HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION PLANS?

A FULL SET OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS CAN TAKE AS LITTLE AS 2 WEEKS OR LESS TO COMPLETE BUT IN MANY CASES TAKES LONGER DEPENDING ON NUMBER OF ADDITIONAL REVISIONS REQUESTED.

WHEN IS AN ENGINEER REVIEW AND STAMP REQUIRED TO GET A PERMIT FOR A HOME PLAN? ​

IN THE CITY OF SASKATOON, YOUR DRAWINGS WILL REQUIRE AN ENGINEERS STAMP FOR ALL FOUNDATIONS THAT USE A GRADE BEAM WITH PILES TO SUPPORT ANY ‘LIVEABLE SPACE’ IN THE BUILDING.  THE TWO MOST COMMON INSTANCES WHERE THIS WILL BE REQUIRED IS IF YOU ARE PLANNING A WALKOUT FOUNDATION OR HAVE ROOMS ABOVE THE GARAGE.

CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL MUNICIPALITY TO VERIFY THE REQUIREMENTS IN YOUR AREA.

ARE WE ABLE TO GET CONSTRUCTION PLANS FOR OUR ADDITIONS/RENOVATIONS?​

YES.   BLUEJETTY.CA HOME DESIGN ALSO PRODUCES DRAWINGS FOR ADDITIONS & RENOVATIONS.   PRICING IS THE SAME AS FOR A NEW HOME.  FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU ARE PLANNING A 600 SQFT ADDITION ON YOUR EXISTING HOME THE PRICE FOR A FIRST DRAFT ($750) WITH 1 REVISION ($200) & CONSTRUCTION PLANS ($0.75 * 600 SQFT = $450)  = $1400 (PLUS GST).

WHAT INFORMATION ABOUT MY PROPERTY WILL I NEED TO BEFORE I START?​​

-SITE PLAN OF YOUR PROPERTY THAT SHOWS DIMENSIONS AND CORNER ANGLE. 

*THE LOT INFORMATION IS ESSENTIAL TO DETERMINE THE LOCATION AND SIZE OF YOUR HOME IN A CITY OR TOWN.

-EXISTING BUILDING PLAN – IF YOU ARE PLANNING AN ADDITION OR RENOVATION TO YOUR HOME AN EXISTING PLAN IS NOT REQUIRED BUT IS VERY BENEFICIAL.  CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL MUNICIPALITY TO SEE IF THEY HAVE A SET OF YOUR EXISTING HOME PLAN, AND ASK THEM TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A COPY.
